It's more than just
It's more than just the Cheese
Two weekends ago I got to visit the thriving metropolis of LaCrosse, WI. My friend Jim wrote the music for a musical based on Those that Play the Clowns. Oddly enough, my friend Lisa was in this play in high school. I know this because I competed against her and Trinity HS when I did Tom Jones with Richland HS and two of my partners at TITC. Those were the days!! Anyway, LaCrosse was actually a beautiful town and a much needed getaway from the drudgeries of real life. My hotel was just off the Mississippi River so I got to go jogging by "Old Man River" one morning and snuck a brief writing respite the next. And there was cheese!! Honestly, I have now tasted the cheese that I brought back home with me and I don't see what the big deal is. New York Cheese tastes just as good if you ask me. But the river was beautiful. The town was lovely and the musical was great. I am so impressed with the work my friend Jim put into this musical. It was such a thrill to see it onstage and produced. I think it was a thrill for the members of the community theatre that produced it too. I hope I get to see it again somewhere else soon.
Jim, whose been in Germany for the last 7 weeks was also in LaCrosse. I only wish I could have spent more time with him. But he is one of the authors of this premiere musical and he had alot of friends supporting him in LaCrosse. So I will see him in June when he gets back. Miss you Jim!!
