Too Darn Hot
I mentioned the hula hoop dancer in a previous mention but she deserves more than a passing nod. This woman Alhia was so sexy and so pretty and after meeting her I discovered she is a lovely woman. I hate her. I hate her! But my friend KF is right: I do have a teensy weensy crush on her.
The highlight of the loft party was watching Alhia do her hula hoop thing to some thriving house music and live drums. After seeing her, I don't know how strippers could ever do it for a guy.
I've actually been to a strip club in my sordid past. While I do sort of enjoy the decadence of the occasion (What catholic school girl now living in NYC wouldn't?) there is still that natural wariness of them. It's an age old argument...who's taking advantage of who in a strip club and I don't want to delve too deeply into that here. Either way, the point of being a stripper, whether you're putting yourself through med school or not is to look pretty and smile adoringly and vapidly at the "mark" in front of you. So while I have managed to have a decent time at an upscale strip club, I am still very aware of the muttled mysogeny of the occasion.
I feel completely differently about ogling Alhia. She is beautiful and charismatic and half naked and gyrating and extremely indisputably talented. I find that so sexy and inspiring. I want to watch her and I want to be her but through it all I don't disrespect her. She was fascinating to watch. It was the most erotic thing I've ever witnessed....and not been in participation. I am hoping some time to see Alhia do the hula hoop thing with flames as she is reputed to be able to do. I told her she should teach classes. What woman wouldn't want to have that skill. Although I think my chest may be too big to ever go pro.
So if you ever get a chance to see her work; run don't walk. Take your boyfriend, significant other or potential next big thing. I guarantee by the end of her performance you'll both be in the mood and you won't feel the least bit sleazy....unless you want to that is.
