More Feng in my Shui
A few weeks ago I went to a Feng Shui workshop. I knew I was in trouble when the teacher, Miriam, told an anecdote which basically goes like this:
Meredith: Miriam, I'd like you tell me how to live in a more Feng Shui environment.
Miriam: Oh, then you must be ready to move.
Miriam W. Tsao has been doing Feng Shui for quite awhile and she's very gifted. I'm not 100% sure this all works; I can say that I've walked into a Feng Shui'ed space and immediately noted how well decorated, comfortable and inviting it was. Only after I made the comment was I told it was done with Feng Shui.
In the end my Fame area is in my toilet...which explains alot. To combat this problem, I have bought red towels for the bathroom and will continue to find ways to put more red in that room. Hmm, if only I knew someone who did fantastic close up shots of roses...Auntie M? Do you know anybody with pictures like that? I do like the look of the bathroom now but only time will tell if my Feng Shui is working. If I gain a certain amount of notoriety then we'll know! Other issues: I need to get a wood headboard for stability, move my bed so I can see the bedroom door, there's too much transfer of energy at my front door so there are windchimes for that and I need a mirror above my stove. I'm kind of having fun with this and I think all of these changes will, if nothing else, look good. I'll let you know.
If you're Feng Shui curious and in the New York City area check out one of Miriam's workshops for yourself. There's one tonight. Here's the info:
"Rock and Romance with Feng Shui" Come and learn how to improve your romantic life with Feng Shui enhancements by using fashion, color, food, and transcendental cures with President of United Nations Feng Shui Club, Susana Basterrica, and Intro to Feng Shui by Director of Feng Shui Forum Miriam W. Tsao. Theosophical Society Book Store, 242 E 53rd St between Second and Third Aves (212-243-2438). Subway: 6 to 51st St., E,V to 53rd St. Thu 11, Intro to Feng Shui, 6-7pm. $15. I know they have lectures weekly or semi-weekly. I won't be attending this one as I'll be 'rockin' and romancin' my current honey while he's still in the country to do so. But maybe I'll see you at the next one!By the way, if you're from Karlhub, be sure to check out my long-winded essay on Feb 1. I put it up late so it might not be highlighted. Hope you like it!
