Ones That Do Part Duex

After almost 12 years of being uninsured, I'm finally one of the ones that do have insurance. I've found a reasonable insurance alternative to being insured by a large employer or "the man". I have my first insured appointment on Sunday. Woohoo.

I have to say, though I am relieved (Now I can go skiing without worrying I'd be destitute if I took a bad fall,) I am a little disappointed. It's so sad that so many people in this country have to get by without basic healthcare. Though I've managed to be insured today, there are millions who are losing their coverage or can no longer afford due to the exhorbitant costs of the insurance industry and the ability of large companies to offer less and less in the way of coverage.

If like me you can't afford coverage, your company doesn't offer it or you freelance, check out the Freelancer's Union..

And as always, stay healthy.
