Hobnobbing with....

I am very proud to announce that one of my clients won a Writer's Guild Award for the Documentary Current Events category. Truth, War, and Consequences is about the war in Iraq. It was produced by Rain Media in conjunction with Frontline.

Congratulations to Martin! and Rain Media!

For a list of the credits check this site. You might just recognize somebody. Aside from that I hear their bookkeeper is awesome.

Joke of the Day

I just heard the funniest thing. Supposedly George Jr Bush put out an ad accusing John Kerry of taking money from special interests and being unprincipled. Um, can anyone say Halliburton? How about Drug Company's?

I find it really interesting that Bush's people even considered an ad like this. It's but one more piece of evidence that those people are cracking up. It does nothing but open the doors for the Dems to publicize Bush's overwhelming ties to Special Interests without looking tacky or harsh. They are just defending themselves. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Let me put it in perspective. Jr. accusing Kerry of cow-towing to special interests is like Clinton accusing Bush Sr. of not being faithful to his wife. Now do you get it?

Keeping Up with the Times

I have been working on revamping my website for the last few weeks and the fruit of my labor, such as it is, is almost ready. I decided to buck the Dreamweaver system to try out Frontpage. I think that Frontpage is pretty user friendly, but it doesn't seem to have some of the bells and whistles Dreamweaver has. Or maybe that's because I haven't found them yet. In any event, I'm excited because this will be the first website I've built from scratch. It will have those things that have been "coming soon" for the last year or so on the current sebsite. You know the Voiceovers and the Bookkeeping page I've been promising? Well, they are there in the new and improved version of www.mermu.net.

I'm also frustrated because I don't yet have the skills to make the site on the web look as good as the site in my head. I think I am really lucky to have such a great Brother in Law who can be me my own personal www.dictionaryofcomplicatedcomputerthings.com. The next trick is getting my Movable Type Blog to look like the rest of the site.

STEPAN!!!!

Catch 178Billion

Is this guy trying to lose the election? Here's an excerpt from a a recent article.

If Bush's deficit and spending projections come true, the government will borrow 22 percent of what it spends this year and 15 percent next year. His plan sets aside $178 billion next year just for paying interest on its debt.

JUNIOR! The words for the day are "fiscal" and "responsibility". Now try to use it in a sentence.

My Pal Prudence

I am introducing a new series into the blog. It's called My Pal Prudence . Prudence is a fictional character who is an amalgamation of anything and everything I come across. The source material could be friends, friends of friends, relatives, rumors, gossip and, in some small instances, me. (For the sake of clarity, anything Pru does that pertains to sex, alcohol, wild parties, or anything at all unseemly is not me. Anyway, it's not the who of Pru that matters it's the what. And some stories are too good to pass up because you don't wan't your mom to know you *****************. So without further ado, meet my Pal Pru:

My pal Pru recently had a fantastic time with a man she calls "Bubba". After a night of wild, no-way-in-hell-would-I-marry-this-guy sex (Addressing the Court: I am not sure if condoms were used but I am pretty sure abstinence was not a part of the festivity.) they are enjoying the satiated feel of a great workout and good lovin. Bubba sat up against the headboard, bare-chested and beautiful and more contemplative than you would think this sort of man could be. Pru lying flat and covered and luxuriating in the purely physical feel of the moment is thinking, maybe I was wrong about this guy. Maybe he is worth keeping around. Then Bubba in his still quite contemplative mood utters softly, " It's a shame I'm not more attracted to Maggie." Really?

My Pal Pru can really pick 'em.
