Still Flowing
"9th Street Water" is still going strong. There is nothing like actually opening a show to find that cohesiveness within the script and the cast. So far responses have been really positive both personally and as a whole for the play.
Last night we all got a thrill as we had two pretty successful working actors in the audience. There is something especially gratifying to get kudos from people who are just like you but also actually making it in the biz. It's like meeting someone who actually won the lottery that inspires you to keep buying your tickets.
So to Jesse and Adam, thanks for coming out. It was really lovely meeting you both!

Daily Bread
Today was harrowing. I woke, tried to do some casting for the staged reading we are doing at Tex in the City, tried not to freak out about the fact that we lost our space once again, did some last minute marketing and PR for "9th Street Water", printed out the 25 additional resumes needed by the producer, went to my newest client who is being audited by their funding entity, and desperately tried to get to the theatre on time (I was 2 minutes late.) At one point it seemed like I was literally doing three things at once and bemoaning my "outcast state".
But tonight it's all fallen to mist. Tonight, I got to walk up 7th Avenue, past the delis and Madison Square Garden, past the myriad of Starbucks closed for the evening. Tonight I got to walk home as a New York actress who just opened a show.
So today I will try to find a way to get some free booze since the new staged reading space is BYOB and TITC would like to provide the wine at least, figure out how to get the people who need to see 9th Street water to the show so that maybe one of us or all of us can get to the next step and also spend a copious amount of time at another client who is also being audited by their funding entity.
But tonight...tonight I'll be a New York actress again so it all seems...right.

Opening Day...Theatre-wise
Well, in the words of my Auntie K, I'm so busy. Last weekend's rehearsal has really taken the spunk out of me and this week is Tech. Sorry, but there's been no time to write.
Tonight is our first night in the actual theatre for 9th Street Water and I'm getting nervous....and excited. It should be a pretty good show. Hopefully you'll come and see and tell me for sure.
By the way, there's been a change in the promotion code for Tex in the City Tuesdays. To purchase your tickets for Tex in the City Tuesdays at www.smarttix.com, use TITC1 in the promotion code. That'll save you $5 and hey, that's a beer.
One more thing, if you do show up be sure to say hello.
3 more days until Opening...yikes.
